Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area of the 12-bed MICU. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7p-7a shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs, develop care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints through established channels and provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- ACLS and PALS certification
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
