Job Summary

Plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations of a specific shift on the Pulmonary Clinic unit, supervising staff and facilitating communication with physicians and administrators. Mentor registered nurses to the role, lead team behavior, and foster leadership development while incorporating the Synergy model for care. Evaluate resource use, coordinate staffing, and initiate tests of change for managerial problems. Serve as an arbitrator in conflict resolution between nursing staff and advocate for nurses, addressing escalated patient issues and customer complaints. Challenge systems to achieve best outcomes, implement innovative approaches, and develop leadership-focused in-service programs. Complete performance reviews, risk management reports, and unit management reports within specified time frames. Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, maintain evidence-based practice, and model effective communication and time management skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • 1 year of recent post-graduation nursing experience
  • A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • BLS certification
  • MSN or DNP
  • 36-75 lbs lifting (0-33% of the work day)
  • 20-35 lbs lifting (34-66% of the workday)
  • 10-20 lbs lifting (67-100% of the workday)
  • Lifting 75 lbs max
  • Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs
  • Occasional to frequent standing & walking
  • Occasional sitting
  • Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing)
  • Blood-borne pathogen exposure
  • Bio-hazardous waste
  • Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors

Desired Qualifications

  • ACLS certification
  • Additional certifications based on department and specialty
  • Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) within 60 days of hire
  • Exceptions: Associate's Degree in Nursing prior to 3/29/2026 (grandfathered)
