Job Summary
Direct and oversee daily unit activities to ensure safe patient care delivery, including making patient assignments, rounding with physicians, managing bed flow, and conducting daily discharge reviews. Proactively plan patient care across the continuum, monitor equipment inventory, and coordinate staffing during surges or shortages. Lead interdisciplinary rounds, perform or oversee the nursing process, and provide peer coaching to ensure quality and appropriateness of care. Serve as a preceptor for new grads and mentors, while participating in shared governance, performance improvement initiatives, and committee work. Rounds on every patient daily to evaluate care and implement corrective actions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure
