RN - Charge Nurse - MICU Stepdown - Nights

Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the MICU Stepdown area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7pm to 7am night shift, including contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting patient outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels, while providing input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time Night shift -7pm-7am
- UAB St. Vincent's East- Trussville, Al.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- ACLS and PALS may be reguired in some units (Step Down, ED and ICU) within 6-months of date hire or transfer
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure/certification required
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required
