RN - Charge Nurse - MICU Stepdown - Nights

Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned MICU Stepdown area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7pm–7am night shift, including contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments, evaluate care effectiveness to identify issues affecting outcomes, and manage patient care complaints through established channels. May provide input for hiring, training, directing, and evaluating staff. Currently licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing with one year of cumulative job-specific experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time Night shift -7pm-7am
- UAB St. Vincent's East- Trussville, Al.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- ACLS and PALS
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure/certification
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
