Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the MICU Stepdown area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the assigned night shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care through established channels and provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time night shift from 7pm to 7am at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville, Alabama.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time Night shift -7pm-7am
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
