RN - Charge Nurse - MICU Stepdown - Nights

Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned MICU Stepdown area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7pm to 7am night shift, including contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting patient outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints through established channels and may provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- ACLS and PALS certification (required in some units within 6-months of hire or transfer)
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Professional licensure/certification
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
