Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership to ensure clinical objectives and quality patient care are met on the MICU Stepdown unit. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff while evaluating the effectiveness of patient care and addressing complaints through established channels. Assess daily patient needs to develop and distribute appropriate care assignments. Contribute to performance evaluations and provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires full-time night shift coverage from 7pm to 7am.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time Night shift -7pm-7am
- UAB St. Vincent's East- Trussville, Al.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- ACLS and PALS may be reguired in some units (Step Down, ED and ICU) within 6-months of date hire or transfer
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure/certification required
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required
