RN - Charge Nurse - MICU Stepdown - Nights

Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned MICU Stepdown area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7pm to 7am night shift, including contributing to or performing performance evaluations of staff. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute patient care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting desired outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
Required Qualifications
- Full-time Night shift -7pm-7am
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
