Job Summary
Direct and oversee daily unit activities to ensure safe patient care delivery, including making patient assignments, rounding with physicians, managing bed flow, and conducting daily discharge reviews. Monitor equipment inventory, coordinate staffing during surges, and lead interdisciplinary rounds to evaluate care quality and implement corrective actions. Serve as a preceptor for new graduates, mentor team members, and participate in shared governance activities to drive performance improvements. This role supports Wellstar's mission of enhancing health outcomes through compassionate, evidence-based nursing practice in the MedSurg-Oncology unit.
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- Knowledge of Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
- Implementation of Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association
