Job Summary
Supervise nursing personnel, coordinate staff meetings, and monitor staffing patterns for the Medical Surgical unit during 30-hour night shifts. Act as the primary link between staff nurses and the Nursing Coordinator by facilitating problem-solving, communicating between shifts, and documenting performance issues. Direct emergency responses, participate in multi-disciplinary conferences, and assist with discharge planning while maintaining quality assurance activities. Contribute to operational goals by providing input on budget trends, staffing utilization, and policy development. Educate patients, families, and other healthcare professionals through in-service programs and clinical orientations.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of Registered Nurse experience
- one year in clinical specialty
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- High school diploma or GED
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Basic Life Support
- Experience in acute care or skilled nursing
- utilizing the nursing process

- Two (2) years of recent Med/Surg experience in an acute care setting
- Med/Surg Certification
- Demonstrated clinical judgment with a variety of chronic illness and diseases
Desired Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing
- Experience with insulin drips
