Job Summary
Manage daily operational oversight in the Main Operating Room to ensure effective delivery of patient care under general supervision. Interact with the healthcare team to achieve desired results and consistently model excellence in patient care while contributing to unit leadership. Work nights Monday through Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. with no call requirement. Requires a Bachelor's or Associate degree in nursing, two years of OR experience, and current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Associate/Diploma degree in nursing
- Enrollment in an accredited BSN program within two years in position
- Successful acquisition of a BSN degree within four years in position
- Two years of work experience as a registered nurse in an OR designated area of practice
- Attendance in the Charge Nurse Workshop
- Successful completion of the MUHA Charge Nurse Competency-Based Orientation within 6 months of hire
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
