Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care for office patients following established standards and procedures. Deliver patient care in a cardiac setting while performing PPM & ICD interrogations, test programming, and EP procedures. Teach patients about implanted devices and EP procedures. Maintain records and reports while communicating clearly with patients, families, physicians, and staff. React calmly in emergency situations and uphold confidentiality. Requires two years of professional nursing experience in a cardiac setting, current Alabama RN license, and CPR certification. ACS certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Alabama State Registered Nurses License
- Current CPR certification
- Two (2) years of professional nursing in a cardiac setting
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care
- Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions
- Skill in writing and maintaining records and reports
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, and staff
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures
- Upholds effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability and promptness
- Skill in PPM & ICD Interrogations, test and programming
- Knowledge of EP procedures
- Skill in decision making related to the programming of implanted devices
- Skill in teaching patients about implanted devices and EP procedures
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification preferred
