RN with Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification to provide diabetes education to patients and families; develop and review diabetes education materials; participate in MLKCH Diabetes Care Committee; ensure materials align with ADA standards; promote self-management and behavioral goals; document in medical records; COVID-19 and HIPAA compliant; requires CA nursing license and CDCES within 6 months; bilingual skills preferred; per diem role in CA.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Nursing (required).Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience and a minimum two (2) years diabetes education experience with inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certification of Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 6 months of hire.
- Candidates with CDCES exam eligible will be considered and will be required to pass exam within 90 days of start date.
