Job Summary
Lead CCU nursing care by integrating evidence-based knowledge, delegating tasks, and coordinating assignments to ensure proper patient placement. Facilitate patient conferences, address discharge teaching needs, and mentor new employees and students. Communicate effectively with ancillary personnel and professional staff while maintaining organizational skills through effective planning. Complete a 13-week night shift assignment with rotating weekend coverage, including options for 3/12s or 4/12s with overtime. Requires ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification for a Michigan-based role. Required Qualifications
- Leadership role encompassing integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice
- Delegation and coordination of tasks and assignments of nursing care
- Facilitating/participating in patient conferences
- Identifying and providing means to meet patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs by communicating with appropriate resource persons and attending discharge/transfer planning conferences
- Assuming responsibility for professional growth by seeking out educational opportunities and utilizing programs in the hospital or elsewhere in the community
- Teaching and/or guiding professional and ancillary personnel
- Precepting/mentoring new employees and students
- Functioning as a team leader to ensure proper patient placement and delegation of assignments
- Communicating relevant information in a manner that is understandable and effective
- Showing organizational skills through effective planning
