Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive occupational health programs including first aid, immunizations, and exposure follow-up for associates reporting injuries or illnesses. Administer medications and manage medical supply inventory while accurately documenting all data into the electronic medical record. Collaborate with physicians, risk management, and insurance entities to coordinate treatment plans, obtain authorizations, and manage the temporary modified duty program for safe return-to-work assessments. Evaluate workplace safety, implement wellness initiatives, and oversee compliance with federal, state, and hospital guidelines for influenza, N95 fit testing, and TB screening. Perform pre-employment physicals to determine job capability and counsel individuals on exam findings and implications for personal health and job performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
- 3-4 years Nursing experience
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- Valid RN license in the State of Maryland or DC
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- 1-2 years Occupational health experience
- COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse
- Good physical assessment skills triage and first aid skills
- Understanding of workers compensation and OSHA regulations
- Good patient education skills
- Strong communication skills and intermediate computer skills
