Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive occupational health programs including first aid, immunizations, and preventive health guidance for associates reporting injuries or illness. Accurately document all data into the electronic medical record and administer medications such as vaccinations and TB skin testing. Collaborate with physicians, risk management, and insurance entities to coordinate treatment plans, obtain authorizations, and manage temporary modified duty for safe return to work. Perform pre-employment physicals, screen for infectious diseases, and counsel patients on exam findings and job performance implications. Liaise with departments to evaluate workplace safety, implement wellness programs, and track compliance with federal, state, and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or comparable experience
- 3-4 years Nursing experience
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- Valid RN license in the State of Maryland or DC
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- BSN
- 1-2 years Occupational health experience
- COHN - Certified Occupational Health Nurse
- Good physical assessment skills triage and first aid skills
- Understanding of workers compensation and OSHA regulations
- Good patient education skills
- Strong communication skills and intermediate computer skills
