Job Summary
RN in Cardiovascular Surgery ICU (CSICU/CVICU) provides comprehensive nursing care on a cardiac ICU unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; serves as preceptor and charge nurse; supports patient/family education; collaborates with multidisciplinary team for complex cardiac postop cases (CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, heart transplants, LVAD/ECMO/IABP); skilled in neuro and airway management, ventilator care, and post-surgical monitoring; works within unit policies, ensuring high level of service and adherence to professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
