Job Summary
Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position providing direct perioperative nursing care for procedures including open heart, coronary bypass, valve surgery, and congenital heart defects. Works in a fast-paced hybrid/three-heart-room environment with pediatric and adult patients, utilizing the nursing process, coordinating care with families and healthcare team, and documenting in EPIC. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments per physician protocols, leading and supervising staff as appropriate, orientation and mentoring of new staff, and contributing to quality improvement and safety initiatives. Qualifications include an Associate Degree in Nursing, NM or compact-state license, BLS, ACLS and PALS for Surgical Services Pre-Op/Recovery, with CVOR experience highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
- BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
- ACLS:Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
- PALS: Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
- CVOR HIGHLY PREFERRED
