Job Summary
Provide safe, high-quality care to adult patients on a 27-bed Cardiovascular Medicine and Cardiothoracic Surgery unit (CVCT ICU), including ICU and intermediate-acuity patients. Manage care for post-cardiac surgery, heart or lung transplants, and patients with cardiovascular diagnoses, using technological skills (ECMO and other devices) and a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. Rotate day/night shifts with weekend and holiday rotations; participate in a supportive environment with staffing ratios, professional development opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package. Attend to patient and family needs, uphold safety and quality standards, and contribute to a culture of nursing excellence within UW Health, Madison. Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or a compact-state license
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- ACLS within 6 months
- Six (6) months nursing experience or participation in UW Health Nurse Residency Program with orientation on unit/similar unit
- BSN Preferred
- Relevant RN Experience Preferred
