Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients with congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those requiring continuous infusions of milrinone, amiodarone, or dobutamine. Monitor cardiac rhythms, manage oxygen therapy via high-flow nasal cannula or BiPAP, and educate patients on heart health and medication modifications. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care while gaining expertise in post-cardiac interventions such as pacemaker and AICD placement. This role supports new and experienced nurses building clinical confidence in a unit recognized as Best Hospital Unit in 2025 and 2026.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nursing program
  • New Graduate nurse eligible for licensure
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
  • ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – prior to independent chemotherapy administration
  • ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
  • PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
  • PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
  • PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU – ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
  • BLS required only within 180 Days
  • Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
  • NRP by the end of orientation period
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
  • NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
  • Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
  • CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
