Job Summary
Assess, monitor cardiac rhythms, and manage continuous infusions for patients with CHF, CAD, DKA, and those requiring oxygen therapy via High Flow Nasal Cannula or BiPAP. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care while educating patients on heart health, medications, and lifestyle modifications. Gain expertise in managing post-cardiac interventions such as pacemaker, lifeVest, and AICD placement. This role supports new and experienced nurses building a strong clinical foundation in a supportive environment at Piedmont Henry Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- Licensed Registered Nurse or New Graduate nurse eligible for licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU - ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- BLS required only
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- NICU- NRP by the end of orientation period
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Passion for cardiac care and patient impact
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
