Job Summary
Provide patient care in the Cardiac Stepdown unit using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing. Work full-time weekend shifts (Friday through Monday) for 36 hours weekly with a $20/hour differential. Earn a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates. Maintain current RN licensure in Missouri and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
