Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients in the Cardiac Progressive Care unit. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy service standards. This role requires a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident to work 24 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
