Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in the Cardiac Progressive Care unit. Maintain professional accountability for care provision and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 pounds with prolonged standing. Part-time 24-hour/week schedule includes 12-hour days from 7:00am to 7:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Physical requirements/demands: Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
