Job Summary
Conduct phase II Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation according to hospital policies by assessing comprehensive nursing needs and designing individualized goal-oriented exercise prescriptions. Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while supervising equipment use and ensuring safety with crash carts and defibrillators. Perform new patient interviews covering medical history, functional status, and nutritional assessment, then provide 30-day updates to the referring physician. Deliver patient education on cardiovascular disease risk modification and coordinate oxygen delivery procedures with respiratory therapy. Maintain exercise equipment, monitor physiological responses via EKG/ECG systems, and complete all required EMR documentation and quality initiative reports.
Required Qualifications
- RN degree from accredited school of nursing
- Competent in telemetry
- One year experience in providing health care services for cardiac patients with ECG monitored patients
- Experience in Outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehab setting with telemetry monitoring
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, rhythm, blood pressure and oximetry interpretation and assessment
- Understanding of hemodynamics and pathophysiology of cardiopulmonary diseases
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport
- Able to readily identify appropriate actions to take per ACSM guidelines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Current WA RN licensure
- BLS required at hire
- ACLS required within one month and before performing direct patient care
- Must be able to set up, monitor, and read EKG/ECG systems used during cardiac rehabilitation and exercise
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
