Job Summary
Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for blood cancer oncology patients in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include assessing patients on admission and during shifts, administering prescribed medications, monitoring and documenting patient response, responding to patient needs, and educating patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up steps. Collaboration with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage). Requires BSN within 24 months of hire (if applicable), current Texas RN license (or compact), BLS, ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer, and ONS chemotherapy biotherapy certification within 60 days of hire/transfer. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position
- Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
- Current American Heart Association or ARC BLS provider
- Effective 1/1/24, current American Heart Association or ARC ACLS provider within 6 months of hire or transfer
- ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer
