Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the ER environment through collaboration with the healthcare team and autonomous application of the nursing process. Coordinate and delegate care in a safe, secure, and clean setting while demonstrating respect for patient rights, dignity, and confidentiality. Apply evidenced-based practice and information technologies to provide comfort, relieve pain, and alleviate anxiety. Lead, mentor, and role model for other team members including nurse externs, LPNs, and patient care assistants. Practice within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practice Act and adhere to all Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare policies and ICARE values. Maintain full-time status (0.9 FTE or greater) with a sign-on bonus eligible for qualified applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- Licensed as an RN in accordance with Florida's Nurse Practice Act
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from an accredited American Heart Association (AHA) instructor
- Other specialized life support requirements designated by work area
- Acceptance of a full-time position (0.9 FTE or greater)
- If a former employee, must have been separated from the organization for at least 12 months
- Certain job related experience requirements may apply
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
