Job Summary
Delivers nursing care for patients within the Behavioral Health Service Line General Adult Inpatient Unit limits of the Nurse Practice Act. Collects and documents assessment data, develops a Plan of Care, and implements medical orders using an interdisciplinary approach. Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes and provides patient/family education and discharge planning. Administers medication per standard, delegates care based on UAMS standards, and serves as a resource for student nurses and staff. Works under the direct supervision of the Clinical Services Manager to maintain patient care standards. Day shift position (7A-7P) with a six-month requirement to complete conflict management training.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethic and accountability
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Ability to successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire
- Ability to stand frequently

- Ability to walk occasionally
- Ability to bend, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop or reach overhead frequently
- Ability to lift and carry weight of 25 lbs
- Ability to push and pull weight of 25 lbs

- Ability to read, concentrate, think analytically continuously
- Ability to manipulate items with fingers, including keyboarding

Desired Qualifications
- 2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
- Current BLS
