Job Summary
RN – Behavioral Health provides bedside nursing on Behavioral Health units across St. Charles Health System, delivering patient- and family-centered care and overseeing care by other caregivers. Responsibilities include coordinating nursing interventions, administering medications, performing comprehensive mental status exams, responding to crises, de-escalation, patient and family education, maintaining nursing standards, and contributing to quality improvement. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, adherence to policies and procedures, and the ability to work night shifts in a hospital-based psychiatric setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon RN license
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
- Code Grey Training within 3 months of hire
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements
- Preferred: BSN
- Preferred: Department specific acute care certification (e.g. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, RN-BC)
