Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for individuals suffering from psychiatric illness, behavioral disorders, and chemical dependency. Maintain professional accountability for care provision and coordinate patient care with other departments while evaluating the effectiveness of care by direct care givers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are maintained. Provide evaluation, education, medication therapy, and relapse prevention within a structured therapeutic environment. Work 24 hours per week on nights.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
