Job Summary
Assess patients' physical and behavioral health needs, develop nursing care plans, and maintain medical records while educating families. Administer medications accurately, document controlled substance counts, and notify physicians of significant status changes or medical emergencies. Coordinate unit activities, communicate therapeutically with patients and visitors, and ensure physicians' verbal orders are transcribed appropriately. Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently while demonstrating knowledge of universal precautions and state Nurse Practice Act regulations. Work three 12-hour shifts every other weekend at Cross Creek Hospital's 90-bed acute inpatient psychiatric facility.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of employment or be eligible to practice nursing in accordance with state requirements
- One year of nursing experience
- CPR certification
- de-escalation certification
- restraint certification
- First aid certification
Desired Qualifications
- previous psychiatric nursing experience
- mental health nursing experience
- behavioral health nursing experience
- substance use disorder (SUD) nursing experience
- AHRN certification
