Job Summary
Coordinate patient throughput and bed assignments for all inpatient admissions and hospital transfers, prioritizing placement per policy and infection control requirements. Evaluate pending discharges and bed availability to direct patient placement requests, utilizing clinical expertise to assess urgency and resolve operational barriers through interdisciplinary collaboration. Communicate with medical staff and administrative teams to facilitate appropriate placement, escalate issues via the chain of command, and address increased census challenges. Maintain service levels by handling calls timely while adhering to standards of practice and EPIC application protocols. Complete annual self-appraisals, peer reviews, and process improvement initiatives. Night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. with 12-hour rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Relevant nursing experience within an acute hospital setting, including but not limited to inpatient adult, pediatrics and critical care, emergency and urgent care
- Demonstrate competence in the use of EPIC applications as they pertain to Bed Management
