Job Summary
RN Assistant Director of Nursing role supporting the DON in overseeing the Nursing Department for a 162-bed skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities include monitoring and delivering personal nursing care, leading and supervising nursing staff, ensuring resident care quality and rights, conducting unit rounds, maintaining accurate documentation, participating in emergencies and on-call rotations, and providing training and orientation to maintain licensure and team certification. Requires current RN license, minimum nursing degree, and supervisory experience in long-term care; CPR certification; strong leadership, decision-making, and adherence to nursing standards and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state where the center is located
- Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an approved RN program
- Minimum of 5 years of RN nursing supervisory experience (preferably in long-term care)
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of nursing practices, standards, and state regulations governing long-term care
- Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with team members
- Leadership, teaching, and supervisory skills
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret nursing programs and procedures
- Willingness to adopt new nursing practices and apply them in the home office context
