Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans, implementing interventions and documenting activities for continuity and quality improvement. Monitor patients physiologically and psychologically to establish a safe environment, coordinating support services and communicating needs to the surgical team. Position patients during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures while applying aseptic techniques and universal precautions to reduce infection risk. Administer medications and modalities within scope of practice, providing life support in emergency situations and directing the health care team as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
