Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans, then implement interventions and document activities for continuity and quality improvement. Monitor patients physiologically and psychologically to maintain a safe environment, coordinate support services, and communicate needs with the surgical team. Position patients during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures while applying aseptic techniques and universal precautions to prevent infection. Administer medications within scope of practice, provide life support in emergencies, and teach families to assist in achieving optimal health outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
