Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans, including nursing diagnoses, goals, and interventions. Implement these plans to provide optimal care while documenting activities for continuity and quality improvement. Monitor patients physiologically and psychologically to establish a safe environment, coordinating support services and communicating needs to the surgical team. Position patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, applying aseptic techniques and universal precautions to ensure infection control. Administer medications within scope of practice and execute life support actions in emergency situations. Identify patients to verify correct procedure and site, and communicate recovery room information to promote care continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience preferred
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
