Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans, including diagnoses, goals, and interventions. Implement these plans to provide optimal care while documenting activities for continuity and quality improvement. Coordinate support services, manage supplies and equipment, and maintain a safe, sterile environment by applying aseptic techniques and infection control principles. Identify patients to ensure correct procedure and site, position patients during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and facilitate patient transfers. Administer medications within scope of practice, provide life support in emergencies, and communicate critical information to recovery room personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
