Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans for endoscopy procedures, including collecting and interpreting physical and psychosocial data. Implement care plans, administer medications within scope, and document activities for continuity and quality improvement. Monitor patients physiologically and psychologically to maintain safety, coordinate support services, and communicate with the surgical team and recovery room personnel. Position patients during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures while applying aseptic techniques and universal precautions. Provide life support in emergency situations and evaluate care effectiveness against patient goals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
