Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans for endoscopy procedures, including collecting data, interpreting observations, and implementing interventions. Monitor patients physiologically and psychologically to maintain a safe environment, while coordinating supplies, equipment, and team members to ensure efficient postoperative care. Administer medications within scope of practice, execute life support in emergencies, and communicate critical information to recovery room personnel. Identify patients to verify correct procedure and site, position patients during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and teach aseptic techniques to reduce infection risk.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
Desired Qualifications
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience preferred
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
