Job Summary
Assess patient health status to develop individualized nursing care plans for endoscopy procedures, including collecting data from documentation, interviews, and observations. Implement care plans with nursing diagnoses, goals, and interventions while documenting activities for continuity and quality improvement. Coordinate support services, position patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintain a sterile environment through antisepsis and aseptic technique principles. Administer medications within scope, execute life support in emergencies, and communicate patient outcomes to recovery room personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Membership in the Society of Gastrointestinal National Association and certification by SGNA
- 2+ years of recent endoscopy lab or ICU, ED experience
- Demonstrated advanced level of achievement of performance standards for endoscopy nursing according to SGNA standards of care
- 1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment
