Job Summary
Perform all aspects of cellular therapy collections including granulocytes and whole blood in compliance with NYBCe standard operating procedures. Conduct patient physical assessments, obtain consent, administer medications per physician orders, and perform pre/post procedure evaluations to report abnormal findings. Operate apheresis equipment, troubleshoot alarms, and maintain inventory and regulatory documentation. Schedule donors and staff, provide patient education, and manage adverse reactions or emergencies. Maintain regulatory binders and complete all required electronic records. Scan work hours and submit monthly expense reports.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- MN RN Licensure upon hire
- BCLS certification
- Ability to perform physical assessments to perform job
- Attention to detail in all work processes
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Excellent peripheral access skills
- Math and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, emergency, critical care, telemetry, or a related acute care setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Previous experience in therapeutic apheresis, cellular therapy, and/or hematopoietic stem cell collection
- Competent in HPC, MNC, and clinical trials
- Competent in PIV and CVC
