Job Summary
RN Ambulatory Surgery Unit ASU responsibilities include evaluating patients prior to surgery, providing patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process, preparing patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds, performing surgical site verification and time-out/debriefing per policy, recognizing and responding to emergencies, delivering high-quality patient-centered care with evidence-based practices, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe nursing care and document patient changes. The role emphasizes using the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, leadership, and education of patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and follow-up measures.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of employment start date
