Job Summary
Provide direct patient care, triage, and assessment for pediatric patients across seven specialties including Infectious Disease, Nephrology, and Genetics. Obtain vital signs, document history and physical exams, and administer medications under physician direction. Review test results, facilitate patient callbacks, and delegate tasks to LPNs and MAs. Contribute to facility quality metrics and ensure compliance with The Joint Commission standards. Complete orientation, annual education, and patient health teaching. Requires current NYS RN licensure, Associate's degree, and CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree of a state accredited Registered Nursing program
- NYS current RN licensure to practice professional nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees within the work setting
- Familiar with computer software
- Effective Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Working Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to give medications via all routes and ability to calculate medication doses
