Job Summary

Monitor new orders for telemetry, pulse oximetry, and capnography in real time while partnering with Patient Technology Technicians to ensure monitoring is initiated and communicating updates to bedside RNs. Support inpatient units by completing admission documentation for new admissions and transfers, helping reduce the bedside team's workload and identifying gaps in care for quality initiatives. Connect with patients and families through an iPad interface. This onsite role rotates between day and night shifts at the UCHealth Virtual Health Center in Peoria, CO, with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. Candidates must hold an RN license, six months of nursing experience, and current BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
  • Must be available for night shifts (approximately five-to-six-night shifts within each six-week scheduling period)
  • Must be available for three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Must be available for Day and Night Rotation
  • Must be available for work nights
  • Must be able to work onsite at the UCHealth Virtual Health Center in Peoria
  • Must be able to support Virtual Telemetry RN functions (monitoring new orders for telemetry, pulse oximetry, and capnography in real time)
  • Must be able to support Virtual Admissions/Quality RN functions (completing admission documentation for new admissions and transfers)
  • Must be able to communicate updates to the bedside RN
  • Must be able to connect with patients and families through an iPad
  • Must be able to identify and address gaps in care
  • Must be able to provide top of scope practice in direct patient care utilizing the nursing process
  • Must be able to value a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes
  • Must be able to prioritize wellness, a patient perspective and evidence-based practice
  • Must be able to model proficiency through precepting those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth
  • Must be able to welcome new knowledge in a fast paced, innovative clinical environment
  • Must be able to contribute to secure safety and quality at the point of care
  • Must be able to work in specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) Units of moderate to high patient acuity
