Job Summary
Provide top-of-scope direct patient care in specialty acute care (Med-Surg) units with moderate to high patient acuity. Utilize the nursing process to prioritize wellness, a patient perspective, and evidence-based practice within a multidisciplinary team approach. Model proficiency by precepting new healthcare staff and validate competency through clinical educators during orientation. Maintain current BLS or CPR certification in hand before start date and ensure it remains valid through sixty days of hire. This onsite role at UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO, requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least six months of RN experience. Full-time day and night rotation covers 72 hours per pay period. The team improves lives through learning, healing, and discovery in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
