RN - Acute Care - Ortho Surgical - Part-Time Night Shift

Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, and evaluations for orthopedic surgical patients while implementing individualized care plans based on evidence-based practice. Coordinate interdisciplinary rounds, document care progress, and partner with patients and families to set goals and provide bedside teaching. Mentor staff and students, participate in performance improvement initiatives, and develop protocols to reduce re-admissions and adverse events. Ensure compliance with Georgia Nurse Practice Act, TJC safety goals, and Wellstar policies while managing night shift duties. Requires RN license, 2 years direct patient care experience, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed RN (Reg Nurse Single State or RN-COMPACT Multi-state Compact)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) or ARC-BLS (Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support) or BLS-I (Basic Life Support - Instructor)
- Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience
- Ability to read, write and speak English language
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to function in a fast paced environment and respond to emergencies in using a decisive, composed and respectful manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Possessing strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to optimize the use of technology to support clinical care and holds basic computer skills
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Nursing degree (Preferred over Associates Nursing or Diploma)
- Experience in Ortho Surgical setting
- Experience in Night Shift
- Experience in Part-Time schedule
