Job Summary

Conduct bedside shift reports, update patient and family goals, and perform the nursing process using evidence-based practice in the Ortho Surgical unit. Coordinate safe, quality patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote recruitment and retention. Mentor staff and students, lead performance improvement initiatives, and participate in shared governance activities to advance clinical protocols and research utilization. Adhere to Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act standards and Wellstar safety absolutes. Requires RN license with Georgia or Compact status; BSN preferred. Night shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed RN
  • Knowledgeable and upholds the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
  • Implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association
  • Upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures
  • Supports service excellence goals
  • Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; planning; implementation and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence based practice
  • Uses analytical/critical thinking

  • Provides relationship-based patient centered care that is consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g. age, gender, disease, etc)

  • Provides bedside shift report
  • Keeps the patient and significant others updated
  • Makes the patients goals the focus of the plan of care
  • Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care

  • Promotes the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members

  • Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing
  • RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
  • Less than 1 year Completion of accredited/ approved school of nursing with requisition clinical hours
  • Direct patient care experience
