Job Summary
Provide top-of-scope direct patient care in specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) units utilizing the nursing process for moderate to high acuity patients. Prioritize wellness, a patient perspective, and evidence-based practice while contributing to safety and quality at the point of care. Model proficiency through precepting new healthcare staff and guide individualized specialty education and training for competency validation. Support a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment. This onsite role at UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO, requires a full-time 72-hour schedule with day and night rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Provides top of scope practice in direct patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Values a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes
- Prioritizes wellness, a patient perspective and evidence-based practice
- Models proficiency through precepting those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth
- Welcomes new knowledge in a fast paced, innovative clinical environment
- Contributes to secure safety and quality at the point of care
- Direct care includes specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) Units of moderate to high patient acuity
- AMSN's core curriculum and various specialty certification standards are included in evidence based care models for each unit
- Clinical Educators support and guide individualized specialty education and training for competency validation throughout clinical orientation
