Job Summary
RN responsible for direct patient care in correctional healthcare settings in Colorado. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate medical documentation, delivering direct patient care (PO, IM, IV, SQ, SL), administering medications, assisting physicians and mid-level providers with procedures, conducting triage and urgent assessments, implementing treatment plans, applying infection control practices, and ensuring a safe clinical environment. Must perform comprehensive physical and behavioral health assessments, communicate medical orders during shifts, educate patients per nursing guidelines, observe and report changes in patient conditions, restock supplies, and maintain life-safety compliance. Requires at least one year of RN experience, an unencumbered Colorado/Compact license, U.S. citizenship, background check completion, and ability to complete a four-day self-defense course; shift schedule is Thursday–Saturday, 05:00–17:00, with local and travel 13-week assignments available.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one full year experience as a Registered Nurse
- Unencumbered Colorado or Compact registered nursing license
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Successful completion of a thorough background check and onboarding process
- Must be able to complete a rigorous and physical four-day self-defense course
- Ability to respond to emergency situations involving inmates and/or medical situations and make policy and profession compliant decisions
